About Us

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit our website and choosing Blinds & More for your window treatment needs. 

First, we would like to introduce ourselves and tell you a little bit about our company, our family, 

and how we landed in this great community of Lee county.   

Blinds & More began business nearly 30 years ago when Terry Thrower (Blake’s father) discovered the need for this market in our community. 

Terry was self-employed and, over the years, built great relationships with the community, realtors, and builders. In June of 2020, 

Terry decided it was time to take a step down and pass the torch to us, his son and daughter-in-law.  

We are Blake and Ashton Smith. We were married in 2017 and had a precious baby girl, Emi Reese, in 2019 

and had another baby girl, Collins, join us in 2023!  Blake has worked (and continues to work) at the Opelika Fire Department 

every third day. Ashton began learning the business side of Blinds & More by working along side Terry for 2 years before his retirement.  

As a family, we decided that taking over the business would be the perfect fit for our lifestyle and schedule. 

After running the business and getting our foundation set for the past year and a half, we learned that, while word of mouth, 

a good reputation, and referrals go very far, that it is 2022 where the internet and social media are king. 

That brings us to our website, along with all of our social media profiles.  

We love this business and we love this community. Our roots are planted here and will remain here for many years to come.
